So at the moment, at my mother-in-law's place there are 8 little and very active puppies! They're so cute and cuddly and I can't wait until I can bring them back to my own house which still undergoing a renovation.

Been ages!

Whoops... it's been ages since I last updated my blog >.<

So many things been going on in the last few months. I was just back from Perth, Western Australia with my husband. We spent 18 days there and we enjoyed it so much. Beautiful weather coz it's spring there and the sun light was just great. Love the food as well ^^ It was our honeymoon (9 months after the wedding!) and also been a great break for us from the busy life here.

For those of you who visit Perth, don't forget to try these restaurants :
1. Pronto >> Bay View Terrace, Claremont (Try : Rigatoni Pronto, Pasta Al Forno & Italian Sausage for your appetizer!)
2. Terazza >> Ardross (Try : Linguini, Pepper Steak, Caesar Salad)
3. La Cascade >> Stirling Hwy (Try : Sea Scallops, French Union Soup, Medallion and their home made dessert are just lovely)
4. Bar Pizza >> Glyde Street, Claremont (Try : Pizza on Fire)
5. Jade Court >> Cottesloe (Try : Spicy Quails, Fillet Fish with ginger and shallots, Hokkien Fried Rice)
6. Nandos >> various suburbs (Try : Their chicken of course!)
7. Gargano >> Stirling Hwy (Try : Their tiramisu!)
8. Spaghi >> Millpoint, South Perth (Try : Their pizza are generally very good and gnocchi pasta)

I gained a bit of weight there >.<

I uploaded a few illustrations for Forget Me Not Stationery :) I should have concentrated on the Xmas edition now coz the holiday is approaching very soon. I wonder how time past so quick! In the next 2 months it'll be my 1st anniversary :)

Death, sadness and life

Yesterday I just lost a close cousin of mine. It was such an unexpected and shocking thing to happen. Her name is Sanni Juniar and she was only 25 years old. She just graduated from her medical school and just became a doctor. She just started her career and she wanted to continue her study in Germany. She was a cheerful, kind hearted, humble and very friendly girl. Life wasn't very easy for her because she lost her dad when she was very young but she was determined to live life to the fullest. She has lots of friends. She was involved in a Catholic organization and did many wonderful things.

She was walking to the Bus-way terminal near her house when someone snatched her bag. Well, we didn't exactly know what happened because all the eye witnesses said they didn't know what exactly happened to the police. Some of them said the person who snatched her bag was on motorcycle. She might be purposely hit on the head when she fought for her bag or accidentally fell and her head hit something hard on the ground. But she died because of criminal act. Because sometimes, life can be so cheap in Jakarta. Her money in her wallet is not a lot. She died because people can be so cruel sometimes. They don't care about others.

It was so sad and unfair for someone who's so young, so vibrant and just began her career and her life to be taken away. But God has another plan for her that we don't know for now. Of course, it's always hard to understand His plan when we are grieving and missing her so much. Me myself, couldn't believe it until now. I still expect to hear her loud voice, her cheerful laugh and to see her smile around me. I miss her terribly and couldn't believe what had happened to her, to such a wonderful girl.

But I believe, she's with God now. That she's happy to see Him now and don't suffer anymore. She had always believe in God and have a good faith in Him. Good bye Sanni, I will always always miss you. I believe you are happy now. We will always miss you.

Please be careful when you're walking in a public place especially for you girls who live in Jakarta. You know how our big city can be so cruel. Always be careful and pay close attention. Don't walk too near to the road. Keep yourself save.

Are you happy?

Are you happy? It's the question the we should often ask ourselves :) Sometimes, we're so caught up in our every day life with so many things to do, so many activities which means so many things to do yet so little time. Especially for us who live in the big city where there's a lot of traffic and take so much time even to travel from one place to another. That's the case with me who live in Jakarta ^^ The traffic? So bad! In good days, 15km would take about 20-30 minutes and in bad days, can be 1.5-2 hours. But I love Jakarta, despite the bad stories, the crimes, the flood and the people. There's always something lovable about your home town. How you're so familiar with everything.

Anyway, back to the question, am I happy? Are you happy? I would say, despite whatever is happening at the moment, I can say I am happy. Yes, my life is not the perfect life. But who's life is perfect? No body. What makes me happy is the fact that am surrounded with the people that I love the most. Who are they? My parents, my dear husband Albert, my relatives (cousins, aunties, uncles, nephews and nieces), best friends (they're the people I considered really close to : Carla, Carol, Amelyn, Mita, Ing-Ing, Ellen, Julia and Alice) - I don't meet them everyday but I think the nice thing is the fact that I could always feel close to them as if we're never apart whenever I meet them. I don't feel awkward and I still feel really2 close and can tell them everything.

As with my life, I live in comfort (provided by my lovely parents). Yes, it's not the glamorous life where I can buy whatever I want and buy those branded stuff whenever I want. No, it's not. But it's not like I find them essential :) I do have to admit that I like them sometimes, but my life does not depend on them. I love cute and casual things that doesn't cost a fortune as well. And dats happiness I think. Being able to have and wear the things that I really like which doesn't always be expensive and branded. My life is provided with enough food, good shelter (a comfy bed that I can always sleep at night), not having to worry about money at all (it's not like I have A LOT so I don't have to save.. of course not...) - I do have to save :)

I have a job that I love (well, most of the time). Being able to work with my husband and doing something that I like (marketing and design) is a gift. Not a lot of people like their job but they have to do it because they need the money. I have such a luxury and I really appreciate it.

What else would I want? Well, my life is not that perfect so that I have nothing else to want. I wish it is.. but that what makes life interesting huh? The thrills, the problems, the boundaries... otherwise, you won't appreciate your life anymore. First of all, the thing that I want the most if so my mom would recover from her sickness. That would be my ultimate want :) Second, I would like more time that I can spend to design stuff ^^ More time to do my hobby and passion :) Third, I want my family to be very happy and healthy ^^

Hospital is not a good place for both sick and healthy people T_T

Hi.. Hi.. Am currently in the hospital because my mom is being hospitalised since Friday last week. There's a bleeding in her head after the operation and the blood needs to be drained out :( anyway, we're still lucky because she's okay now. Been in the Intensive Care Unit for 5 days and today she's being moved to the normal room. Still not sure when would she be able to go home. I guess it's better for her to stay for a while until we make sure everything is okay. Hopefully after this there'll be no more bleeding, complication or infection post operation that often happen.

Anyway, the stuff that we've sent to HP Indigo competition have arrived safe and sound in Singapore :) This is the first time we compete and hopefully we can bring an award home... HOPINGGGG... :) As always, the preparation wasn't very good hehehe.. very rushed I would say. But I guess it's okay. Next year we have to do better though. I love what we sent there :)

Being creative? really no time for that at the moment. When a family member is in the hospital your energy and time is spent there and you couldn't really be productive in your work let alone being creative. I haven't created anything for AGES! I haven't done the albums that am supposed to work on T_T That's a birthday album for 3 nephews and an album for engagement party for a friend. I feel that I haven't been out for a while as well T_T I need a retail therapy hahaha...

Anti Social

It has been quite a while since I wrote AGAIN and I haven't been able to go out at all except last Sunday where I went to see a photo exhibition titled '1939'. It was good. It was created by The Looop and Esquire Magazine in Indonesia where they celebrated 2nd birthday of the Esquire Magazine. Many Indonesian top photographers and models were involved. They produced high quality photographs and my husband's Photo Lab called Adorama sponsored them by printing the photos :)

I was sick for about 10 days now T_T previously I think I was too tired when I accompanied my mom in the hospital. She needs to have an operation to implant a shunt in her head because of the hydrocephallus (meaning you have too much brain water in your head). It was a simple operation but because of her weak condition, the risk could be high. But we're so thankful that she did alrite and in recovery status now. We keep continue to pray for her and we thanks all of our family and friends who have shown tremendous support and prayer.

Okay, about the design... I've created a set of personalised stationery to be sent to HP Indigo awards 2009. In the stationery I've included personal set of cards, notepads, notebook and stickers all packaged in a hardboard box (also personalised). When I got the final product I'll post them here :)

The design was in yellow and chocolate (I'm glad that I'm not sick of the colour even though I've used them for everything for my wedding ^^) with 2 giraffes. It was created for my best friend and her hubby so everything is personalised with their names and details.

Nothing new anymore. I wish I can do more design but no.. no inspiration and my body is too tired.

It's been so long ^^

Wow... it's been quite a while since I last wrote on the blog hey? Many things have happened during these few months. Of course we got the Xmas and New Year celebration. Then as Chinese people we got the Chinese New Year not too long ago. This is the first time me and my husband have to give out "ANGPAO" (the little red envelopes filled with money) to our nephews and nieces. We're going bankcrupt.

Also, Albert's birthday is coming up REAL SOON. I haven't bought anything for him yet although I think he needs a few new clothes :)

I'm very excited about my line of Stationery Forget Me Not. I've created the packaging and started to advertise using Calendars :) I've got some orders from family and friends hehehe... There's still so much to do and with the new year and new resolutions sigh... :) Our business is busy and busy and I feel like I haven't got the time that I need to create new designs :( but I guess it's better to have a busy and exciting life rather than a boring one.

My best friend is getting married on Valentine's day and we photographed them for their pre-wedding shots :) It was fun and the results turned out pretty good ^^ Anyway... with creative stuff... I felt like I havent been very creative lately... hopefully when I got the time to concentrate I can come up with more designs :)
