Wedding Souvenir

Today I print my wedding souvenir at my fiancee's photo lab using the tintoretto paper 250g. They came out beautifully altho I still prefer the Tomahawk paper. My wedding souvenir is 4 blank cards with 2 designs with chocolate envelopes wrapped in a vellum printed with pattern in yellow with me and my fiancee's name and wedding date.

I also tried printing the vellum but I haven't got the yellow colour that I want. Have to do some trial again. I have to start printing these soon because there'll be 1400 packs that we have to do! So many things to be done and so little time. I plan to print our wedding book guests ourselves as well.

Today I went to a hand made shoes maker called Fendy Wong's Shoes. He designed shoes for brides and fashion shows. I chose a simple one with a big bow on top with some swarovski crystals attached on the bow. One thing done... still plenty of things to be done next week. We're gonna see more fashion designers and also the decorator. I wish I have more time to prepare for everything. I think these 7 weeks to go will go in a flash without me realising it and suddenly it'll be my wedding day.

It's funny how I feel sad that the big day is approaching. I think it's because it's the day that I've been waiting for such a long time and it's coming close and I know it's gonna end as well. But I always think that what's important about marriage is not the party or the celebration, but the life afterwards. I plan to have fun with my husband and kids and still have the time to do some illustration designing.

The first post

Okay, this is the first post. This will be the beginning of my blogging career. Let's see how long I can do this. I've created a few blogs before but then too lazy to come back and write something. Hopefully it doesn't happen with this one.

Why do I call this Forget Me Not? Main reason, is because it's my dog's Pedigree formal name. Her name was Parkway Forget Me Not. Her real name is Moli. Normal, I know. But I always think it's such a cute and sweet name. And it suits her perfectly. Also, Forget Me Not is a bunch of flowers that are small and so sweet. Another reason? I'm hoping to start this new line of stationary products called Forget Me Not (inspired by Moli's name, of course). I'm currently helping my fiancee's family business that does photo and digital printing. I thought paper and printing's popularity is rising especially those with handmade design and process, so why not use the opportunity.

I'm still learning using the Adobe Illustrator. I find it quite easy to use since I've used Photoshop for quite a while now but it's still something to get used to. My fiancee also bought me the WACOM to help me with the design hahahaha (how sweet of him). Drawing cute things has always been one of my passions. One that I haven't been able to concentrate on completely due the amount of work I have to do.

I'm preparing my wedding which is gonna happen on 14 November 2008. So little time but so many things to be done. It was actually set on the 14 February 2009. But my mom, who was diagnosed with lung cancer stage IV in December 2006, is not doing very good. She has gone through some chemotherapy which now damage some nerve in her brain and caused her to have like a mini stroke. She has small control of her body, became very weak and lose her ability to communicate (not 100% though). The doctor is concerned with her condition and suggested us to move forward the wedding. So we did. So that's how I ended up with so many things to be prepared in such a short time. I haven't even finalise my wedding dress sketch yet!

Anyway, it's always good to write things down. Let's see how this blog's journey will go for. I certainly would want to keep up my stationary design going on. Wish me and my mom luck on my wedding day. We sure need a lot of support. Our families and friends have been very wonderful and supportive. Can't thank God enough for this ^^
